Confidence is quiet while insecurity is loud!
People will always grow to a leaders expectations. A great leader has the ability to instill confidence in their team; and they have the capability to steal confidence from their team. How so?
Leaders Steal Confidence By:
It's easy to think you can do it all or have done it all by yourself but hardly is this ever the case. In a confident team and organization lies camaraderie the creates momentum. ( Remember a mind stretched by a new idea never regains it's original dimensions) For me personally one of my biggest achievements and accomplishments in life was born from what at the time I thought was a setback or failure. For a brief second my confidence was missing but not stolen. I had great leaders and mentors who still had faith in my as a follower and a leader.
Once your team is all on the same page they will began to mimic your strong leadership characteristics and traits. They will ensure their words match their actions and most importantly your executive presence in your absence will still be felt. When you as a leader are not around to give praise, constructive feedback or word or two of encouragement; no worries your team will step in and step up and do it for you. A leader's job is not only to look for potential but to build and instill confidence.
So as a leader always remember to celebrate the offbeat just as much as the on beat. For me as a leader ; there is not anything more motivating for me to hear you have a solid team; a team that would charge hell with a water pistol for you! My response is well it didn't just happen overnight. It took intentions, time and structure. Are you confident in how you lead and instill?
